Seahawks fantasy forecast – Week 3 NFL predictions

Start ‘em & Sit ‘em Week 3

Fantasy Football – Seattle Seahawks Week 3 predictions

The undefeated Seattle Seahawks play their second straight game at home this Sunday.

This week they welcome perhaps the worst team in the NFL – the Jacksonville Jaguars  – who are 0-2 and who have scored just one TD all season long!

Will it be a fantasy bonanza for the Hawks’ position players? Likely not – Seattle will likely get back to basics, get out to an early lead and nurse it home to the finish line.

It could mean a short day for Marshawn Lynch as the backups could come in and mop up and it could mean an unflattering day for the passing game – there likely won’t be any fireworks needed in order for this team to post victory.

So which Seahawks should start for your Fantasy squad this week? Let’s take a look.

QB Russell Wilson

10 yards rushing, 200 yards passing, 1 TD

I see Wilson being the quintessential game manager – not a lot is going to be needed out of Wilson this week.

The Hawks will likely build up a big lead and ride Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin to the easy win. He is a sketchy Fantasy starter this week based on the fact that he won’t be called upon a lot.

RB Marshawn Lynch

120 yards rushing, 1 TD 2 catches, 10 yards

Lynch was terrific last week and heading into this week we can expect the same. After all, the Jaguars allowed Darren McFadden over 100 yards last week.

I am projecting 120 yards because I think Robert Turbin and Christine Michael will see a lot of touches after this game is out of reach.

If he played the whole game Lynch would be good for 165 yards – easy! Lynch is a top 10 RB option any way you slice it!

WR Doug Baldwin

4 catches, 60 yards, 1 TD

Baldwin has emerged as Seattle’s best Fantasy receiving option. He catches the bombs from Russell Wilson.

While I think he will be fine this week, just don’t expect huge numbers – Seattle ain’t gonna have to throw a lot. He scores this week and gains moderate yardage – low-end WR3/high-end WR4 material.

WR Sidney Rice

2 catches, 50 yards

Is it me or does Rice look like a complete bust? I know – it’s not me!

Wilson isn’t looking his way very often and when he is – they are intermediate routes for short gains. Time to cut the Fantasy umbilical if you own him!

WR Golden Tate

3 catches 40 yards

Tate is another guy that figures to have a down week with the perceived emphasis on the running game. Tate has also lost a lot of touches to Doug Baldwin somehow this year.

TE Zach Miller

2 catches, 20 yards

Miller is always good for 20-45 yards. This week I project him at the lower end of that scale because it will be the running game that rules for Seattle this week.

PK Steven Hauschka

2 FG 3 XP

D/ST

250 yards, 4 sacks 2 INT., 2 FF

The Jags are completely inept on offense – they have a combined 11 points so far – TOTAL – in two games and they haven’t faced anything like the Seahawks yet in a building like CenturyLink.

Seattle has allowed just 10 points total all season against some good teams – incredible!

Seattle is the #1 Fantasy defense this week by a mile. If you own then – congratulations!
